Zawadi is the Swahili word for gift. We named this roast for the only gift that doesn't depreciate.

This coffee is natural processed — dried inside the whole cherry fruit, absorbing sugars and flavor from the pulp over weeks in the open air. It's the oldest processing method in the world, and it produces a cup with heavier body, deeper sweetness, and bolder fruit character than washed coffees. Grown by Derek Mbugua, this medium roast opens up the more you sit with it: dried plum, currant, peach, berries, and vanilla, layered into a finish that rewards patience the same way education does.
